Here goes...

I use to blog quite frequently in college...back when I had time to spare and a seemingly endless quantity of opinons to share with the world. I guess when you graduate college and get a "real job" other things take precident, things like blogging take the backseat. I also spend my days now on the computer for work, so when I get home the last thing I want to do is get on the computer again.

I guess with this first entry I'll recap a little bit of my life recently. I've been married and living in Jacksonville for the past 2 1/2 years. I cannot believe that the time has passed so quickly. I absolutely love living in Florida. I love the beach and the laid back culture...but I don't love the hot, unbearable 90 degree summer days. But, I deal with it.

I work for a company that has contracts with several hospital in North Florida. We work with uninsured patients and assist them with getting approved for programs through the federal and local government that will pay their hospital bills. I mainly work with Aging and Disabled patients who have Medicare, but no secondary insurance. I help them apply for Medicaid and sometimes nursing home Medicaid, when needed. I love my job and I love the demographic that I work with. A lot of my patients don't have any family, so it makes me feel good to know that at least someone will be looking out for them and trying to help them with their medical bills/insurance etc.

My husband is on deployment right now, his "almost" 3rd tour (when he was first stationed on his his ship, they were already on deployment, so they flew him to his ship and dropped him off...he finished the last 3 months with them). He is on the USS Vicksburg and is an IT...which means that he controls the internet and satellites and makes them work. He is my computer genius and we are both very "techy" people. If there is a gadget out there, one of us will know about it and want it. And then the other will want one too!! We (or should I say I) have a dog named Sailor, after her Dad!!! She is 5 lbs. and the cutest, sweetest dog in the world, but I don't think she likes Alan, and he feels the same way, so they have a love-hate relationship....even though secretly, I know he loves her!

I am going to try to blog more often and keep people up to date with my life...as boring as it may be. I hardly ever take pictures, so don't expect to see anything exciting..unless I get really motivated and actually take some pictures and upload them.
